Who is it for​

Food Safety Training Summary

All Ocean Wave Monaco Food Safety Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 Training is accredited by HABC and compliant with MCA, CISR and many other flag states. 

These are essential courses for all Interior crew but are also useful to all departments.

Location

All onshore courses take place at our dedicated training premises in Monaco and Antibes, but can also be run onboard your yacht, at a time and place to suit you and your crew (up to a max of 16 per course).

  • Fees should be settled in full, at time of registration
  • Candidates must be aged 18 or over
  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of both written and spoken English

Can I do my Food Safety Training online?

Any chef and crew involved in the processing, preparation and handling of food for others need to hold a valid Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.

The MCA only accepts certificates from courses which are listed in MIN 689 (M). The HABC Highfield Awards in  Food Safety , delivered by Ocean Wave Monaco, are listed as approved in MIN 689 (M).

Please note that the MCA will not accept course certificates which are not listed in MIN 689(M) and the MCA will not accept courses which have been delivered solely by computer-based training (CBT).

When can I expect my certificate?

Course certificates will be issued as soon as possible after completion. Once your certificate is issued by Highfield it will be sent, via email, as a PDF document.

This PDF certificate is now accepted as the ‘original copy’ as we move forward to reduce our impact on the environment by wasting less of the earth’s resources.
All management companies and captains are aware of this, however, should you have any issues and we will be happy to speak to them directly to confirm the validity of  your qualification.

I did the Food Safety Level 2 course with instructor Mark, and had a great experience!
